Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:  Pean, from the midst of a fess Gules a horse rampant naissant Or.  Attached below the shield a Black scroll turned Gold inscribed ANIMA FORTUNA SEQUITIR in Gold letters.

Symbolism
The shield is pean-fur.  The yellow horse and the red fess represent the Cavalry unit coming from Artillery units.  The motto translates to Fortune Follows Courage.

Background
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 23 April 1928.  It was amended to add the motto on 22 January 1936.

Crest

That for the regiments and separate battalions of the Army Reserve:  On a wreath of the colors Or and Sable, the Lexington Minute Man Proper.  The statue of the Minute Man, Captain John Parker (H.H. Kitson, sculptor), stands on the Common in Lexington, Massachusetts.

Motto

ANIMA FORTUNA SEQUITUR (Fortune Follows Courage).
